Black, Light & Gesture

When I was little I would go out in the rain and put multiple sheets of large paper on the sidewalk to get them thoroughly soaked and stuck to the sidewalk, then I would paint all over them with watercolors. I loved the process of painting on the wet paper, I loved being soaked by the rain, I loved how happy I was entertaining myself, and I became even more delighted with the colorful crumpled and distorted paper when it dried. I've always enjoyed the process over the output, and I think I have always had a fondness for my art supplies over my art for the comfort they give me. I like my art messy just like my hair, my bed, and my sandwiches. Select paintings and drawings are available for purchase through my Gallery on Saatchi Art.
